Sotiris Kasparides was born in 1980, at Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus.
He began playing the guitar at the age of eight. He has attended the University of Tennessee, USA, Arte Music Academy, Cyprus and Middlesex University, London and he was awarded with the titles BA and MA Music, London with specification in guitar. He studied guitar with Mario Abril, USA, Dimitris Regginos, Cyprus and Timothy Walker, London. During his studies he participated in concerts in USA, Bulgaria, Cyprus and England as a soloist, with guitar duets, trios and quartets and with instruments like clarinet, flute, violin, piano, and cooperated with singers. He also participated in masterclasses for solo and research on guitar with Therese Saba, Eleutheria Kotzia, and other guitarists.
Since 2007 he teaches guitar and music at Arte Music Academy, and performs solo and chamber music. He is a member of the Guitar Ensemble OKTO and he likes to compose for solo guitar, small and large ensembles, individual instruments and short-length movies.
